
Moving away to college is an exciting yet process that is overwhelming. New friends, new food, new living arrangement— it definitely takes some adjusting.
Probably the biggest ‘new’ though is your academic experience. Besides the increased autonomy themselves will be more challenging (it is college, after all!) And, the class sizes might differ from those you had in high school that you will experience, the classes. While the typical class size at USC is 26 with a student to faculty ratio of 9 to 1, some courses you are taking will be larger.
Any larger classes are split up into what is called ‘sections’ led by a graduate pupil, allowing students to discuss and fundamentally clarify any product that was taught in lecture. New material will be taught by a USC faculty member; graduate students serve as a resource to help students better understand the material and answer any questions that are remaining. Both graduate pupils and faculty members hold workplace hours during the week, which provide an opportunity for students to interact they may have with them one-on-one and address any lingering concerns.

Additionally, USC’s Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity offers pupils with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, and other identified learning distinctions state-of-the-art assistive technologies, also as usage of educational psychologists, work-related therapists, and other learning specialists.
